Synopsis (Laadam)

Laadam (Horseshoe)

The two most difficult phases of life are senility and loneliness; one physical and the other mental, but both are mostly inter-connected.  Reaching the certainty of death, physical impotence and dependency, and in many cases starvation too, are clutching them.  Some people empty themselves giving the next generation everything they have.  Some others are eliminated from the soil they owned.  ‘Laadam (Horseshoe) is a mirror against isolated parenthood and a foresight to our own tomorrows.

Laadam (Horseshoe) is actually an icon.  This is used to protect the animal hoofs.  Man’s mind and body also needs protection in his declining years.  But most often, the younger generation doesn’t pay any attention towards this.  They live their own selfish life, forgetting everybody except them.  They are not willing to stretch a helping hand even to the people who gave birth to them and nurtured them.  Some of them end at old age homes and some others’ fate may be more pathetic.  They have to roam even without food or shelter.  They need only our helping hand and they deserve it.  ‘Laadam’ is a wake-up call for today’s world and we presented it as a tribute to older persons.
